Titled this cause i have been sharing with students and parents about how SP have been doing.
NYAA. LeaP.
One being a national award, accreditating what the individual have done. The other is a school initiative to develop more leaders and give them opportunities to unleash their potential.
Students in simgapore are required to go through min 10 years of education. Despite the fact that education have proven its effect, more are required of our students. Why?? Cause it boils down to employees are gotta identify the better ones.
People always want things that are better. Be it phone, housing, cars, bags and muchmuch more. And i think thats when the extra criteria comes in. Leadership. Sports.
Getting good grades isnt as tough as it was. That brings me back to the point about holistic education.
SP have made an impact on who i am today. As much as the school have done, its the people you meet that contributed. Its your luck if met nice people along the way that guides you, give you opportunities. But there are others who are the exact opposite. Pull you down. Back stab.
Its just a personal opinion.
Poly feels more like a miniature of the society. You face a vast variety of people. Being exposed early, will lead to enlightenment earlier.
Jc, even though you may get to see the true colours of people and perhaps the selfish side, its by no means comparable to Poly. Because there are no longer teachers, no longer discipline masters. Independence, self discipline, tolerance, humble. All these are essential.
These are essential skills.
Not trying to put anyside down.
